There are some processes you need or want to do, when you move to Slovenia.
You have to register with the police (if you are a visa holder and live in the private flat) or register the address with the administrative unit (if you moved for a longer time and can provide owner's consent).
If you are residing in an organised accommodation (dormitory, hostel, or similar), you will be registered by the owner / manager, so you do not have to do it.
The government is subsidising student meals, so we recommend you to register for that relatively quickly. :)
For specific purposes you might also need to arrange tax number and/or bank account.
Who needs it?
All who have a visa and stay in private apartments immediately after arrival.
Those staying in organised accommodation (e.g. hostel, dorm, hotel, etc.) will be registered by the accommodation provider. If you will be stay in a private apartment for a longer time and you have a contract, you should register with the administrative unit (not police!).
