Academic calendar
The academic year at the University of Primorska lasts from 1 October until 30 September the following year. Semesters and examination periods at UP are distributed as follow:
Autumn semester: from the beginning of October to mid-January, followed by a 4-week examination period,
Spring semester: from mid-February to the end of May, followed by a 5-week examination period.
Autumn semester: from Wednesday, 1 October 2025 to Friday, 16 January 2026
Winter examination period: from Monday, 19 January 2026 to Friday, 13 February 2026 (4 weeks)
Spring semester: from Monday, 16 February 2026 to Friday, 29 May 2026
Summer examination period: from Monday, 1 June 2026 to Friday, 3 July 2026 (5 weeks)
Autumn examination period: from Monday, 17 August 2026 to Friday, 11 September 2026 (4 weeks)
15 October 2025 is Rector’s Day. On this day, various sports and other events are organised for students and employees.

Winter examination period: from Monday, 25 January 2027 to Friday, 19 February 2027 (4 weeks)
Spring semester: from Monday, 22 February 2027 to Friday, 4 June 2027
Summer examination period: from Monday, 7 June 2027 to Friday, 9 July 2027 (5 weeks)
Autumn examination period: from Monday, 16 August 2027 to Friday, 10 September 2027 (4 weeks)
